A New Shed-Quarters

Please help us transform Overpool Community Centre into a new ‘Shed-Quarters’ for
The Port Men in Sheds








The Port Men in Sheds, is a registered charity (which started in 2010 in E.Port). We aim to support men who are suffering from social isolation, loneliness, bereavement, redundancy, illness, adapting to retirement, missing the companionship of the workplace and a host of other life events. We do this by providing a workshop, a small gym, a music group, pool table, dart boards and most importantly, a space to meet and chat.

We currently operate from an industrial unit at Junction 8 Business Park, E.Port which has become financially unsustainable due to the ongoing cost of the rent. We have now secured a long-term lease, from the Cheshire West & Chester Council, on Overpool Community Centre. This which will guarantee the future of The Port Men in Sheds and allow us to expand the services we provide to the community.

Overpool Community Centre has been vacant for three years and there have been a number of burglaries and vandalisation at the site. The terms of our lease will require us to fund, upgrade and maintain the building which will require a significant amount of work and expenditure.

We are asking the local community to help us by providing their time, skills, resources, materials or by making a financial contribution.
